  Let me try to give you a different perspective.

  First off, we can agree that all people, as biological creatures, are created equal, right? This will help level the field.

  Imagine that there is a company owned and operated by devout muslims and the norm and corporate culture there is to never celebrate personal birthdays, as forbidden by the faith.

  Imagine there is an open position for someone in HR and one of the applicants is a person of faith/creed that celebrates birthdays. This person goes off and asks a discussion board, what could they do to take the job (because they need the money) and at the same time to have everyone else at the company celebrate their birthday.

  What would you answer this person if you were asked the question directly?

  Can we Die After the Thousand Years and Final Test?

  howdy guys and gals,.

  i am currently researching some material on what watchtower doctrine says with regards to punishments jehovah candish out to us after the thousand year reign and the final test.. my mother (a brilliant woman) always told me that if a human purposefully went against jehovah after the thousand years and the final test, jehovah would instantly put them to death.

  is this true?

  I have never been completely clear on the immortality of the "144,000"

  The way it was explained to me in my attempted indoctrination was that immortality just means one can not die (from natural causes, accidents, etc). Everlasting life is another layer on top that guarantees, hmmm, everlasting life...

  As you can see, exactly the opposite to what blondie quoted above.

  Welcome dude!

  Catch your breath and take it easy with the wifey. Definitelly devise a plan and be flexible. There is an extraordinary amount of great advice here. Don't rush things; having her out with you and the kids will be the greatest accomplishment!

  my take on the drama this year is yet another slam against having children......... the "ideal" is still to pioneer........they're the ones put on a pedestal, both the younger and older couples.. the young mother, is forced to care for a cranky, crying child........

  the following is from the comments section of the independent article about the 22 year old jw with sickle cell anaemia who died in england last week while refusing blood.

  maria makes aguest sound laconic so i don't blame you if you can't be bothered reading it all but the jw cliches and lies are all too familiar.

  i'm guessing she is at the thursday meeting about now so maybe she will respond again later.. .

  If you can quote from an elders manual than that means you must have been an elder in the past

  Uhm, no, sister....It's plastered all over the web and even used as evidence in some US courtrooms....I can quote from a gourmet cookbok, and I can't even make a cheese sandwich.

  OK, things are about to get messy....

  i have been operating as an ex-jw for over five years now.. i was never d/f or d/a - following an unsuccessful marriage to a jw and subsequent divorce, i went through quite an awful period of my life.. i was blocked from seeing my daughter by my ex-wife and her staunch jw family.. slowly my jw friends started pulling away as they didn't want to get involved.. i lost all interest in the organisation, and started to build a social circle outside of the faith.. at this point, my mother was still an active jw.. during that time, my mother wrote a letter to the bethel in london explaining to them what my ex-wife had done, and how she had been supported by her jw family.. the reply ; your son, and yourself need to work on your own spirituality.

  jehovah will bless you as a result.. so that was it.. over the last 12 months, myself and my mother have spent a lot of time researching the organisation.

  i gave her crisis of conscience which she has read, and now she is at the point where she doesn't believe that the organisation have the truth and hasn't been to a meeting in over a year.. yet, she has been hounded by elder's since this time.. one particular elder - imagine, the hitler-type elder who makes it his business to organise and dictate everyone's lives.

  Elder: "when can we meet"?

  Mom: "Soon"

  Elder: "How soon, I need to know exactly when"

  Mom: "It will be very soon"

  Elder: "I Have to know exactly when, soon is just not good enough"

  Mom: "Soon is not good enough? Really?. OK, I am just about to make up my mind and let you know"

  today i added a new article to my blog addressing the sad consequence to individuals lives the result of watchtowers infantile doctrinal policy making.

  its the story of a man (and a woman) disfellowshipped for something watchtower later on decided was not immoral.

  my second cousin called me and told me some things that happend in my old congregation right after i left.

  she was rapped at 15 yrs old by a brother and her father got the police involved but while they were discussing what to do the wt society called and told them to drop it.

  they followed their advice.

  However, it does make the point that literally thousands of such cases may be out there ready to be triggered by the Conti verdict.

  To take it a step further, what makes this particularly dangerous is that it cannot be undone and it can't be argued that it was addressed in any positive way! It is not like they changed the policies after few incidents (like in the Untank case in Australia, where they got the required certification). This is going to haunt them for a very long time....
